The Victorian Craft Awards were established in 2015 and celebrate Australian craft in a variety of mediums. The Awards showcase work that demonstrate quality crafty skills, a refine used of materials and processes. The awards span the work from emerging, mid-career, and established artists.
Grace Brown (Oh Hey Grace) had her work 'Moon Portal and Beacon to the Moon' 2021 shortlisted for the awards.
Statement from the artist:
Moon Portal and Beacon to the Moon explore the delicate balance between utopia and dystopia within society. Designed to encourage playful interaction, they allow the viewer to transport themselves to another time, place, or universe...offering a safe passage from the often dystopian reality outside.
