‘Heavenly Quarry’ is named after the historical site Heatherlie Quarry in Gariwerd National Park (The Grampians). Growing up nearby, I spent a lot of time exploring the area from natural stone formations, to old abandoned buildings. The surfaces I’d find on my adventures have stayed with me. For pieces in this series I have sought to replicate the textural and weathered surface seen on rocks and abandoned buildings.

This sculpture uses a combination of deconstructed wheel-thrown and hand-built components merged together to create a unique sculpture.

‘Heavenly Quarry’ is made using terracotta clay with a textural lava glaze creating a rust-like finish .

Each piece is lovingly handmade in Melbourne resulting in a truly unique and one of a kind product, however, due to the handmade nature of ceramics, please allow some slight variations in finish and size.

Approximate dimensions: H 23cm x W 8cm x L 16cm

Please handle with care. This piece is delicate :)
